My Story
We begin in Jamaica, where the sound of about ten Heineken bottles banging on a wooden table would frighten most kids, but for me, it was the sound of joy.
The highlight of my childhood was sitting down on my father’s lap as he and his friends shared a beer and their laughter belted throughout the night’s air telling stories. As I grew up - and to this day - something kept and continues to pull me outside. I would then spend my youth finding out what exactly that ‘something’ was as I savoured every word of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, my grandmother’s collection of Jamaican folklore and poetry, and then classics like the Great Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Anne of Green Gables, and Little Women.

I grew up with stories as a vital part of my daily life, but I also grew up in a nation whose stories were told by people who never truly understood. Outsiders, who, although welcomed with loving arms, could never truly relate to our struggles, could never truly know what it’s like to win a game of dominoes, or what it’s like to miserably wait for your parents to take you home after talking over reggae and dancehall music all night. The changes and the mindsets of the people in my own country inspired me to start scriptwriting and attaching the words to the movies and shows that I could already see in my head. Film and television is the love that I sacrificed everything for.

Soon enough, I left Jamaica to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia and listen, learn and create stories with some of the most creative minds that I have ever met. This website is a piece of my inner being that will reveal artwork, creative writing and film samples that reveal societal issues, anecdotes, and emotions. I hope you enjoy.
